These are how the boots looked after the last day.  They haven't been cleaned yet.  We used these boots for 250 miles/5 days at Fort Schellbourne.

I fold the gaiter back like this when I go to put them on.  You can see that the heelstrap has been cut out.  I cut them out of all four boots and that has been working great for us!

The bottom side of the gaiter when it's folded over.  This makes them easier to get on.  They get easier to put on after they have been used once or twice.  Getting them off is really easy.  I haven't had a single Epic c.....

Chief's feet.  This is after doing 5 days at Schellbourne.  He's been barefoot for the last 15 endurance rides that he's done, using Epics.  I did just hose his feet down, so things are a bit wet.

This is Chief right after finishing Day 5 of Schellbourne.  He still has his Epics on.

I always let him cool out before removing his tack.

While he eats, I loosen his girth a little and lift up the saddle and eventually remove it once he's cooled off completely.   That way he won't get heat bumps or have any girth issues (you learn these things when you ride the same hors.....
